Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Shuts Down Non-Abortion Services, Will Keep Killing Babies

Planned Parenthood’s abortion empire continued its downward spiral as the abortion organization announced the closure of some of its non-abortion services in California.

The closures, affecting Melody Health — an arm of Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties — will shutter non-abortion services in locations in Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Mission Viejo, Santa Ana, Westminster, San Bernardino and Upland. The non-abortion services are set to cease operations on December 10.

The abortion business will continue killing babies in abortions — making it clear that Planned Parenthood is nothing more than an abortion business.

The decision comes amid aggressive Republican-led measures to strip federal funding from abortion providers, including the “One Big Beautiful Bill” signed into law by President Donald Trump earlier this year that defunded the abortion giant for one year. That legislation blocks Medicaid reimbursements to groups like Planned Parenthood that receive more than $800,000 annually in federal funds, a provision pro-life leaders credit with accelerating the chain’s decline.

Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties President and CEO Krista Hollinger said in a statement, “Unfortunately, we are now in an unprecedented situation with the defunding, and a deeply painful reality has been forced on us.”

Some 81 employees of the abortion company will lose their jobs as a result.

The nation’s largest abortion chain killed 402,230 babies in abortions in its 2023-2024 fiscal year, a figure that has risen even as federal and state restrictions tighten.

In July, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte shuttered five Northern California centers in South San Francisco, Gilroy, Seaside, Merced and North Highlands, explicitly blaming Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” for the $300 million hit to the state’s affiliates.

“These closures are a direct result of the Trump administration’s policies targeting Planned Parenthood,” the organization stated at the time.

By late September, 42 Planned Parenthood centers had closed, with eight more following in October, including a Memphis site and now the seven in California. Other notable shutdowns include four in Illinois, four in Michigan, four in Minnesota, four in Iowa and two in Houston, Texas — home to what pro-life activists called the “largest abortion facility in the Western Hemisphere.”

“We praise God for the continued failings of Planned Parenthood, one of the most evil organizations of our time,” said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, in April after the chain announced its 10th closure of the year. “When abortion clinics close, babies are saved, and God is glorified.”

LifeNews Note: This article has been updated to reflect that the locations will not close but Planned Parenthood will close non-abortion services inside the centers.
